Stamford Bridge Inspections, Road Work Will Cause Lane Closures

The CT Department of Transportation will be inspecting bridges on Thursday.

Drivers in downtown Stamford can expect more delays than usual on Thursday.

The Connecticut Department of Transportation will be conducting bridge inspections that will create alternating left and right lane closures on both the northbound and southbound lanes of US Route 1 — Tresser Boulevard — between Clinton Avenue and Atlantic Street.

The DOT says the inspections will be performed between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.

And if you’re driving on I-95, you also can expect delays. The DOT said I-95 northbound is congested between Exits 6 and 9 because of road work between Exits 9 and 10. The road work will continue until 3 p.m. The left lane is closed.
