Stamford Building Department Looks to Fix Reputation
A town official got a first hand taste of issues at the department when he looked into renovations at his home.

STAMFORD, CT — A city Board of Finance member got a first hand taste of problems at the Building Department when he started looking into adding another bathroom to his house.
Sal Gabriele talked to four different contractors about the job, but all refused to go to the Building Department to pull permits and said Gabriele would have to wait in line if he wanted it done, according to the Stamford Advocate.
Building and Zoning officials will now use an appointment-only system to avoid long wait times in the office.
