Stamford Candidate Profile: Tony Spadaccini For District 14 Rep

STAMFORD, CT — Election day in Stamford is getting closer and there are plenty of candidates running for various positions in town. To help residents make an informed decision on Nov. 5, Stamford Patch asked candidates to answer questions about their campaigns and will be publishing candidate profiles as the big day draws near.

Tony Spadaccini, 54, was appointed as representative of Stamford's 14th district in August 2018. He has also served as chief operating officer of View Entertainment in Stamford for nine years.

Spadaccini lives in Stamford with his wife of nearly 25 years, Stefanie. They have two sons: Anthony and Paul.

A Republican, Spadaccini is running for the position against Democratic candidate Jeff Curtis.

The single most pressing issue facing our town/district is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.

When elected, I will continue my ongoing pursuit of repairing our neglected roadways. We can no longer "kick the can down the road" on roadway repairs and repaving. We must also attain greater accountability in our school system. I will be an advocate of increased school structure repairs and updates, while continuing to promote excellence in the classroom.

What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

Having raised a family and owned a home in District 14 for nearly 30 years gives me direct knowledge of the needs of the residents.

Another issue facing District 14, and Stamford, is our land use policy and urban planning is being controlled by large commercial property developers. The over-development we are facing will result in a strain on our infrastructure, like schools, more road issues and on our water/sewage systems.

What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?

I will always fight for the residents of my district. I am known as a person who gets things done!
