Stamford Cemetery Board Resigns After Fight Over Care: Report
Stamford's Fairfield Memorial Park has not had an owner since 1994.

STAMFORD, CT — The entire five-member board of Stamford's Fairfield Memorial Park cemetery resigned last week following a vote of no confidence from grave owners, writes the Stamford Advocate.
The cemetery, located on Oaklawn Avenue, has not had an owner since 1994, according to the publication, when then-Attorney General Richard Blumenthal had the previous owner removed to settle a lawsuit alleging mismanagement. The facility became a non-profit and a Board of Directors was installed.
In the years since, problems reportedly persisted, and now the Attorney General's office is again investigating the matter. When and how a new board might be named is not immediately known.
