Stamford Convict Reportedly Dies While in Jail

The man reportedly died while in custody at the Bridgeport Correctional Center over the weekend.

A Stamford man with a long arrest record who was being held at Bridgeport Correctional Center since last summer on a charge of violating a protective order, reportedly died over the weekend.

Fifty-three-year-old Peter “The Weasel” Fraioli, who had lived on Daly Place, apparently of natural causes, a correctional official told Hearst Connecticut Media Group.

Fraioli was brought to St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport after he was found unresponsive in his jail cell early Saturday, The Advocate reported.

A corrections department official said that at 1:23 a.m. Saturday, Fraioli was found unresponsive in his cell by a guard making his rounds and was unable to rouse him.

The spokesman said Fraioli appears to have died of natural causes and foul play is not suspected, however, an investigation of his death is being conducted by Connecticut State Police.

Fraioli was jailed on Sept. 18 and was being held in lieu of a $30,000 court appearance bond for a charge of violating a protective order, threatening and driving while under the influence, according to the report which can be found here.
