Stamford Courthouse Evacuated Due To Alarm Malfunction: Report
A number of trials, hearings and arraignments were delayed as a result.
STAMFORD, CT — A Stamford courthouse was evacuated Monday morning due to a fire alarm malfunction, the Stamford Advocate reports. A Judicial Branch spokesperson said a malfunctioning sensor in the building's fire protection system caused the alarm to go off.
According to the Stamford Advocate, hundreds of attorneys, staff members and members of the public evacuated the courthouse on Hoyt Street around 11:20 a.m. and were unable to reenter the building until 12:05 p.m. A number of trials, hearings and arraignments were delayed as a result.
