Stamford, Darien Beaches Closed Friday
Due to elevated levels of bacteria in the water.

STAMFORD, CT — Beaches in Stamford, Darien and Norwalk were closed Friday, June 29, due to elevated levels of bacteria following Thursday evening's heavy thunderstorms in the area, writes the Stamford Advocate.
Additionally, a few state park beaches in Connecticut are also closed, according to the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. Click here for more information.
This weekend is expected to be a scorcher, and as such, Stamford has also opened cooling centers.
