The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it:
As a parent of two children who graduated from the Stamford Public School system, it has been difficult to watch our schools deteriorate. Not only are the buildings in need of major renovations, but their reputation has also suffered. Schools should be one of the main reasons families come to live in Stamford. Fixing the buildings, especially the mold issue, is a long-term project that will take collaboration from all city Boards. Once a comprehensive remediation plan has been determined, we need to make sure we hold those responsible for the continued upkeep and maintenance accountable. This issue should never happen again. Our children deserve a safe environment in which to learn.
Accomplishments:
I have had a long and successful career in the financial services industry. Currently, I am the Director of Legal and Compliance for a large mutual fund distribution company here in Stamford. I know that my legal and compliance background will enable me to hit the ground running when it comes to serving on the Board of Representatives, especially when it comes to reviewing, updating and enhancing city policies.
Other issues:
Preserving the integrity and quality of life for North Stamford is a priority. Our neglected roads are long overdue for repair and enhanced maintenance and infrastructure upgrades. We must also be proactive and smart about managing development.
What else would you like voters to know about you?
I have lived and worked in Stamford for 33 years. Together with my husband Jim we raised our two children who attended and graduated from Stamford Public Schools. This city has provided many opportunities for us to be successful and now I would like the chance to give back and help make our city a better place for the next generation of residents.
