The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it:
Addressing the impact of population growth on our infrastructure and city services and financial health is a primary concern. Our recent growth is exciting but it creates challenges that require 21st century solutions. There is room for improvement in how the city government works with businesses and citizens to develop solutions that are right for today’s Stamford.
Critical differences between me and my opponents:
I work with a lot of different people in order to help benefit our community. In the end, our kids go to the same schools, we drive the same streets, and we call the same fire department in case of an emergency. I don’t think the vast majority of voters care about a “D” or an “R” after someone’s name. People want effective government.
Accomplishments:
I’ve worked in a multitude of environments with people from all kinds of backgrounds. I understand from experience how valuable diverse perspectives can be. As a former military officer, reconnaissance scout and paratrooper, I understand how to lead under pressure. Leaders have to lead from the front, and lead by example.
As a logistics officer in Afghanistan, I was responsible for equipment worth millions of dollars and the lives of men and women in a combat environment. The mission and operating environment changed day-by-day or even hour-by-hour so I learned to be flexible and to listen to the people that had the best available information before making a crucial decision.
As a small business owner, I understand the struggles that business owners face including the impact of COVID-19 and growing tax burdens. I have seen first hand the impact the pandemic has had on real people in our communities and I take my responsibility as a business leader very seriously. I am ready to continue to serve the community my family and I call home.
Other issues:
Infrastructure and maintenance, traffic and speed enforcement, safe routes to school, and responsible short and long term financial planning.
What else would you like voters to know about you?
I’m heavily involved in several CT-based non-profit organizations (including those that help veterans) as well as my local church. I have three children that have either graduated from or are currently attending Stamford schools. I have led a Stamford Cub Scout pack and continue to be an avid outdoorsman. My family and I enjoy boating, fishing, hiking, and camping.
