The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it:
The single most pressing issue facing our city is property tax increases without commensurate improvements in services.
I intend to fight back against special treatment and tax breaks given to corporate special interests and developers in order to return our focus to improving our citizens’ quality of life.
Critical differences between me and my opponents:
I am a very good listener, honest, and fair. I am trained to ask thought provoking questions while identifying future potential unintended consequences. I am a team player and a collaborator who is not afraid to work with colleagues in order to vet ideas and bring viable solutions to the problems facing the Stamford community.
Accomplishments:
I am a former member of the Stamford Public School Foundation and the former Chairperson of the Smith House (for elderly citizens in Stamford).
I am also the former Chairperson of the African-American Affairs Commission in Connecticut.
Other issues:
- Make Stamford more affordable so people can remain in their homes and retire in our community.
- Ensure transparency and accountability so our tax dollars work for us.
- Work with our fire and police departments to ensure that our neighborhoods and roads are safe.
- Invest in our schools so that every student receives the best education possible.
- Utilize common sense city planning that considers the effect of overdevelopment on traffic, the environment, our schools, and the community.
- Care for our environment because we all deserve clean air, clean water, and a community free of toxins.
What else would you like voters to know about you?
I am dedicated to the well-being of the District 16 community.
