Stamford Family Offers Reward for Info on Homicide of Teen

Shane Slinksy, 18, was killed in Bridgeport earlier this year.

STAMFORD, CT—The family of Shane Slinsky is raising money for a cash reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in his homicide.

Slinsky, 18, was shot Aug. 27 in Bridgeport over a suspected drug deal gone wrong, according to the Stamford Advocate.

Money raised for the GoFundMe will go toward the reward. If no tips come through that lead to a conviction then the funds will be used for a scholarship in Slinsky's name, according to a GoFundMe.

Before his death Slinksy told police that his friend had a sexual relationship with former Stamford school teacher Danielle Watkins. Slinksy got marijuana from her whenever he wanted, according to an arrest affidavit. Watkins was sentenced to five years in prison.

Slinksy's attorney told the Advocate that his client was working to better himself and Watkins was a bad influence toward his efforts to get sober.
