Stamford Fire Department Acquires New Engine
A new fire engine has been placed into service on the city's East Side, according to the Stamford Fire Department.
STAMFORD, CT — The Stamford Fire Department announced this week a new fire engine has been placed into service on the city's East Side.
According to a statement, the engine is stationed at the Eastside Fire Station on Shippan Avenue and primarily serves the city's Shippan, Cove and East Side neighborhoods.
The new vehicle is a 1500 GPM 2020 Pierce Enforcer and is equipped with a number of features, including a 30-gallon onboard foam tank, according to fire officials. (To sign up for Stamford breaking news alerts and more, click here.)

The engine was purchased from Firematic of Rocky Hill and acquired through the efforts of "a hardworking apparatus committee" consisting of Deputy Chief Eric Lorenz, Deputy Chief Matt Palmer, Mechanical Supervisor Frank Docimo and Fire Captain Joseph Dombrowski, officials said.
