The hospital expects to hire new employees by the end of 2017.

STAMFORD, CT—Stamford Hospital expects to hire 80 to 100 new employees by the end of 2017 to help staff its $450 million complex that opened last month.

The new structure will allow the hospital's emergency department to handle more than 100,000 visits per year compared to about 54,000 in the old building, according to the Stamford Advocate.

Stamford Hospital's total employment would be around 2,500 with those additions. There were about 2,300 employed in 2014.
