Stamford JCC Seeks To Add New Pickleball, Tennis Courts
The Stamford Jewish Community Center has a fundraising goal of $150,000 for the new courts, according to its website.
STAMFORD, CT — The Stamford Jewish Community Center is looking to raise money for the addition of six new outdoor pickleball courts and two tennis courts, according to the organization's website.
"The transformation of the outdoor courts will allow for six pickleball and two tennis courts and will include a new hardcourt surface. It will be the perfect space for exercise and accessibility while promoting physical and mental health, wellness and community," the JCC website notes.
There is a goal of $150,000, and so far, $89,000 has been raised. The Stamford JCC is located at 1035 Newfield Ave., and aleady offers indoor pickleball sessions as part of its recreation program.

The sport of pickleball has exploded in recent years, especially in Stamford, where Pickleball America opened up in 2023.
Billed as one of the largest indoor pickleball facilities in the country, Pickleball America in the Stamford Town Center features 27 indoor courts.

More than 36.5 million people played Pickleball from August 2021 to August 2022, according to a report by the Association of Pickleball Professionals which was released to CNBC last year.
