Everett Brown, who was arrested last month, now faces murder and assault charges stemming from the death of 19-year-old Courtney Lee.

STAMFORD, CT—A Stamford man who was arrested in connection to a deadly shooting that occurred on April 18 now faces a murder charge, Stamford police said Thursday in a news release.

Everett Brown, 21, was arrested last month shortly after a shooting at 600 West Ave. that left 19-year-old Courtney Lewis dead and two others injured. Brown was charged then with unlawful discharge of a firearm, reckless endangerment in the 1st degree, carrying a pistol without a permit, risk of injury, and carrying a dangerous weapon. Brown was being held on a court set bond of $1.5 million.

On Thursday, police said that Brown was formerly arrested at the Stamford courthouse, and now faces a murder charge and two counts of assault in the first degree. The latest arrest attaches an additional $1 million bond, and Brown remains in custody.
