Stamford Man Dead After Odd Accident: PD

Police from Norwalk and Stamford were about to arrest the man. He was found dead in a basement, police said.

STAMFORD, CT- A man died in an accident as he was about to be arrested by police.

Stamford and Norwalk Police showed up to Peter Cebo's High Ridge Road home around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, according to the Stamford Advocate.

Cebo told his ex-wife who lives with him that he was going to run as police arrived, according to police. Officers searched the home and found him unconscious on the unlit basement floor. He was pronounced dead.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled the death an accident. It is believed he had a heart attack and struck his head against gym equipment during a fall, police said.
