Stamford Man Faces Charges He Assaulted Wife Over Dinner

The couple apparently had a dispute over what was served for dinner.

An 85-year-old Stamford man was apparently not happy with what was on the menu when his wife served him dinner this past weekend.

The man was arrested on charges of first-degree assault and disorderly conduct after he allegedly attacked his wife, age 46, with an axe, sending her to Stamford Hospital, according to The Advocate.

Selvin Hazel remains in custody in lieu of $100,000 bond set on the charges he was charged with on Sunday.

Police reportedly went to Hazel’s Quintard Terrace home about 11 p.m. Saturday after his wife showed up at Stamford Hospital with a head injury and said she was injured when her husband attacked her with an ax because he was unhappy with the dinner she served him.
