Stamford Man Who Survived 11-Story Fall Now Faces Charges

The man surrendered to police who obtained an arrest warrant.

The man who survived an 11-story fall from the balcony of his Bedford Street apartment in June has been arrested on criminal mischief and disorderly conduct charges.

Jesus Barrabi, 28, surrendered to Stamford Police who obtained an arrest warrant charging him in connection with the June 21 incident, according to The Advocate. Police have said that after getting drunk Barrabi went to the Bedford Street apartment he shares part-time with his wife around 5:30 a.m.

Because of his drunkeness, his wife would not let him into the 11th floor apartment, Barrabi tried to kick in the door, prompting the criminal charges. Police said that Barrabi then apparently jumped from the balcony with several tree branches breaking the fall. Police also said at the time the muddy ground from recent rains had softened his landing. Barrabi suffered a broken pelvis and back.
