Stamford Mayor Caroline Simmons Gives Birth To Baby Boy
Simmons and her husband Art Linares welcomed their third child on Wednesday morning at Stamford Hospital.

STAMFORD, CT — Stamford Mayor Caroline Simmons and her husband Art Linares welcomed their third child on Wednesday morning at Stamford Hospital.
According to social media posts from Simmons, William Charles Linares was born at 10:13 a.m., and weighed 7 pounds, 5 ounces, 21.5 inches tall.
"We are overjoyed to welcome William Charles Linares to our family!" Simmons said in her social media posts. "We are so grateful to Stamford Hospital & the amazing doctors and nurses for their incredible care and service to our community, especially during the past two years."

Simmons said William Charles is named after his two great-grandfathers, William Clifford Haggerty and Charles Callahan.
"William, we can’t wait to bring you home to meet your big brothers!" Simmons added.

Simmons and Linares also have a 3-year-old son, Teddy, and 1-year-old son, Jack.
Earlier in the day, in preparation of her absence, Board of Representatives President Jeffrey Curtis took over as acting mayor and will serve in that role until Simmons is able to resume her duties. The temporary shift of power is pursuant to Samford's charter.
