Stamford Mom Carrying Stroller Dies In NYC Subway Stairs Fall: PD

The 22-year-old woman, a 2015 graduate of Westhill HS, and her infant daughter were found Monday night on a Seventh Avenue subway platform.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — A Stamford woman carrying her young daughter in a stroller died Monday night after falling down a set of steps in a Midtown subway station, police said.

Officers arrived at the Seventh Avenue and West 53rd Street B/D/E station to find 22-year-old Malaysia Goodson unconscious and unresponsive. Goodson's 1-year-old daughter, Rhylee, was found conscious and unharmed, police said.

Goodson was a 2015 graduate of Westhill High School in Stamford, and she worked in day care at The Baby Cottage, her brother, Shawn Goodson, told The New York Times. Rhylee is being cared for by her father and grandmother.

EMS rushed Goodson, of Seaside Avenue, to Mt. Sinai West hospital where she was pronounced dead, police said.

News 12 Connecticut reports that Goodson had was in New York on a shopping trip at the time of accident.

The city medical examiner will determine Goodson's exact cause of death, police said.
