Stamford Mom Donates Kidney to Her Son
His mother didn't think twice about giving up her kidney so her son could lead a normal life.

NEW CANAAN, CT—Saxe Middle School teacher Michael Patrona received a kidney transplant from his mother after his kidney disease worsened after 15 years.
Fairfield resident Patrona, 40, faced the possibility of dialysis until he found a right match, but his mom Eileen Hynes, 66, of Stamford was more than willing to donate one of hers when she found out she was a match, according to the New Canaanite.
The transplant will allow Patrona to lead his normal life without dialysis. He is on medical leave and expects to return to Saxe in the spring.
