Stamford-Norwalk Area Fifth Most Expensive in Country to Raise Family

The Stamford-Norwalk area was named as the fifth most expensive place to raise a family in the country.

The Economic Policy Institute studied various factors that go into raising a family.

A family of four in the area would need to make $97,350 to pay bills. Housing costs an average of $22,990 a year, taxes $15,487 and other necessities $15,603.

Only New York City, Westchester County, Nassau-Suffolk and Washington, D.C. areas cost more.
