Stamford Police Association To Hold Bike Helmet Giveaway Event June 4

STAMFORD, CT — The Stamford Police Association will be hosting the Timothy Coppola Bike Helmet Giveaway event on June 4.

This event was started by retired officer Glenn Coppola after his son Timothy suffered a brain injury while riding his bicycle. His son Timothy succumbed to his injuries and died approximately two years after the accident at the age of 10.

After the death of his son, Glenn and the SPA have been giving away bike helmets to city children.

The event will be held at the Fairway Market parking lot at 699 Canal St. from 9 a.m. to to 1 p.m.

The SPA will be giving away a few refurbished bikes, have a child ID card program, goodie bags provided by UBS volunteers and a K9 demonstration.
