Stamford Police Association's Girls Leadership Program to Deliver Holiday Turkeys to Local Food Bank
Stamford Police Association to donate 55 turkeys to the Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County with the help of its Girls Leadership Program.

On Thursday, November 20 at 3:30 p.m., the Stamford Police Association (SPA) will donate 55 turkeys to the Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County (461 Glenbrook Road; Stamford) and deliver them with the help of the members of the SPA’s Girls Leadership Program.
The Stamford Police Association’s Girls Leadership Program works hand-in-hand with DOMUS Foundation to match young women with Stamford Police Officers for mentoring and educational opportunities. The program runs throughout the school year and aids some 10 middle school girls in the Stamford community. At this year’s turkey giveaway, the young women will not only deliver turkeys, but take a tour of the Food Bank and talk with the Officers about giving back to the City of Stamford.
“Whether it’s donating 55 turkeys to the food bank, or mentoring a group of young women, our officers are passionate about giving back to the community in some way, shape or form,” said Todd Lobraico, President of the Stamford Police Association. “This Thanksgiving, we’re looking forward to delivering turkeys so more Stamford families will have the opportunity to enjoy a traditional holiday dinner, regardless of their financial situation. We are thrilled to share the experience with the mentees in our Girls Leadership Program.”
