Stamford Public Education Foundation To Hold Fundraising Gala June 1

June 1 will also be proclaimed as "Stamford Public Education Foundation Awards Day."

STAMFORD, CT — The Stamford Public Education Foundation, a non-profit agency that serves the students and families in Stamford’s 21 public schools, announced its fundraising gala "Up On the Roof" will take place on Wednesday, June 1 on the Rooftop Terrace at 600 Washington Blvd.

Mayor Caroline Simmons has also proclaimed June 1 to be Stamford Public Education Foundation Awards Day in recognition of the annual event. Tickets are available for $150. To learn more and purchase tickets, click here.

"The Stamford Public Education Foundation’s 15th annual Excellence in Education Awards will be an evening of celebration and inspiration as community leaders and educators are honored for their commitment to public education," said SPEF CEO Lindsay Wyman in a news release.

The event will feature a networking reception, a silent auction, musical performances by Project Music, delicious hors d’oeuvres paired with specially selected wine and beer donated by Domaine Bousquet and Two Roads, and the exciting awards ceremony.

At this year’s Excellence in Education Awards Ceremony, SPEF is honoring leaders in education, volunteerism and community giving.

This year’s award recipients are:

  • SPEF Leadership Award: Senator Patricia Billie Miller
  • SPEF Community Giving Award: Deloitte
  • SPEF Educator Award: One winner is announced the night of the event (17 nominations were received from SPS PTOs)
  • Stamford Public Schools Teacher of the Year: Jonathan Ringel, Stamford High School
