Academy of Information Technology & Engineering teacher, Danielle Weber, has earned the 2021-2022 Project Lead the Way National Biomedical Science Teacher of the Year award, which recognizes educators who demonstrate a strong record of delivering an inspiring and empowering student experience, expanding access to PLTW programs and transforming teaching. Danielle was chosen from nominations received from across the country.

Danielle has been a teacher at AITE for 13 years and teaches AP and honors chemistry, Human Body Systems and Medical Interventions, both PLTW courses. PLTW is honoring Danielle for her work in the PLTW Biomedical Science Program.

AITE Principal, Tina Rivera, said she is very proud of the work that Danielle has done to expand the PLTW Biomedical Science Program at AITE and noted that the fact she won this award while teaching these courses during a pandemic is even more impressive.  “Danielle’s commitment to her students and this program has been unwavering.”

Danielle will be presented with an award by PLTW President and CEO, Dr. Vince Bertram, at a small ceremony at AITE on Thursday, October 21.“Teachers and educational leaders perform one of the most critical functions in our society, and we are proud to work with these outstanding educators who are leaders in their classrooms and across the PLTW network,” said Dr. Bertram. “Congratulations and thank you for your partnership in a shared commitment to empower our students to thrive in our evolving world even amidst the most challenging and unprecedented of times.”
