STAMFORD, CT — The end of summer is rapidly approaching for Stamford students, and its once again time to prepare for the upcoming school year. The first day of school in Stamford Public Schools is Wednesday, Aug. 28.
Here are some of the other important 2024-25 school year dates to get on the calendar:
- Start date: Wednesday, Aug. 28.
- Labor Day, no school: Sept. 2.
- Rosh Hashanah, no school: Oct. 3-4
- Columbus Day, no school: Oct. 14
- Election Day, professinal development, no school: Nov. 5
- Veterans Day, no school: Nov. 11
- Thanksgiving recess: Early release Nov. 27, no school Nov. 28-29
- Holiday recess: Early dismissal on Dec. 20, no school Dec. 23-Jan. 1.
- Martin Luther King Jr. Day, no school: Jan. 20
- February break/Presidents' Day: Feb. 14-17
- Eid al-Fitr, no school: March 31
- Spring recess: April 14-17. Good Friday, April 18, no school
- Memorial Day, no school: May 26
- Tentative last day of school for students and teachers: June 12
