The former Stamford Police Department Sargent is a familiar face to many. From 2012 to 2021 he was the School Security and Building Assessment Officer, responsible for assessing all school building security measures, procedures, and practices.
“Joe is a well-known and well-respected professional who has dedicated much of his career to protecting children through his work in building security and helping his colleagues in the police department deal with stress through creating innovative employee assistance programs,” said Chris Soules, executive director of SPS Human Resources.

Kennedy sees this position as a perfect match for him.
“When this position opened up, I saw that this was an opportunity to combine all my skills and experiences from my life in the police department into a successful career with Stamford Public Schools. The allure to this position is strong for me. I have a 15 yr. history of working with several SPS administrations as a supervisor within the Family Service Bureau of the police department. What I have seen from that experience, is that the current administration is committed to the safety and security of the students and staff of the SPS community. I am very excited to part of this team.”
