Stamford Public Schools: Stamford Public Schools Named Corine Matarasso Assistant Principal Toquam Magnet Elementary School

Stamford Public Schools (SPS) announced Corine Matarasso as assistant principal of Toquam Magnet Elementary School. Matarasso fills the position recently vacated by the departure of former Assistant Principal Casey Cummings.   Matarasso is a long-time Stamford resident and member of the SPS staff.  She has served for the past three years as the Toquam Elementary School teacher leader for student support. Matarasso began her SPS career at K.T. Murphy Elementary School, where she was a teacher in multiple grade levels and served as the school’s administrative intern for four years.   She earned a Bachelor of Science in Marketing at SUNY F.I.T. and a Master of Science in Elementary Education, as well as an Intermediate Administration and Supervision Advanced Degree from the University of Bridgeport. Matarasso has a Remedial Reading certificate from Sacred Heart University and is a fellow of the UCONN NEAG School of Education PK-3 Leadership Program.
