Stamford Rec Early Childhood Program Open House Announced

The new "Stay & Play" program at the Stamford Recreation Star Center will host two open houses for families interested in the program.

Beginning September 2018, Stamford Recreation Services will begin offering a new early childhood program, "Stay & Play," at the Stamford Recreation Star Center, located at 1170 Shippan Avenue.

Children will gain independence & self-confidence in a play-based approach to early learning focused on socialization and cooperation. This hands on active environment will encourage exploration and discovery. Activities will include creative expression, dramatic play, music and movement, large and small motor activities, early literacy, sensory activities, math readiness and outdoor play. The "Stay & Play" program will be directed by Karen Wenz and Beth Covino who have over 45 years of combined experience in early childhood education teaching and directing at various preschools.
