Stamford Rep. Tong Joins Biden, Malloy at Gun Violence Conference

Tong thanked the Obama administration for taking steps to reduce gun violence and called on Congress to pass commonsense gun laws.

STAMFORD, CT- State Rep. William Tong joined Vice President Joe Biden and Gov. Dannel Malloy along with other officials at a White House conference about gun violence.

“In our own state of Connecticut, let alone throughout America, people are dying every day because of gun violence,” Tong (D-Stamford) said. “In the past decade, more than 100,000 people have died as a result of gun violence across the nation, and we must continue searching for common-sense answers."

Tong is the chairman of the State House Judiciary Committee and helped pass legislation that requires the surrender of firearms after a temporary restraining order is issued in cases of domestic abuse.
