Stamford Salon Owner Is Nominated for Hairstylist of the Year Award
ShaQueen Valentine is a nominee for the award to be presented Friday night.

The co-owner of the downtown Stamford hair salon Vanity Studio has been nominated for Hairstylist of The Year at the 2015 Christopher Lamont Fashion & Music Awards.
ShaQueen Valentine, 30, is one of the nominees for the award that will be presented Friday night at The Stratford Hotel and Conference Center in Stratford.
Valentine is a hair stylist, designer, colorist and educator, who co-owns Vanity Studio with her business partner and master hair designer Danelle Aune. Valentine has more than 10 years of experience. She launched Vanity Studio at 225 Atlantic St. in the fall of 2011.

In the spring of 2014 Valentine opened an adjacent cosmetology school at Vanity Studio.
Valentine has studied design and management at Parsons School for Design. Earlier in her career she interned at Warren Tricomi, Salon Shahin, and Noelle Spa, and has also held Hair Design positions at Enzo Riccobini Salon, Creations by Kathleen, and Regis Salons. She also has been privately trained as an educator in the mixing and formulation of colors for all stages of application from L’Oreal, Wella, Redken, Aquage, and Paul Mitchell.
