The Trumbull girls basketball team showed why it is the reigning FCIAC champions.
Alexa Pfohl scored 15 points and sister Victoria added 14 as the Eagles routed 55-34 on Friday for their 25th straight FCIAC victory.

Erin Moore added 14 for Trumbull (2-0), which jumped out to a 32-12 halftime lead en route to the convincing victory.
Mackenzie Griffin scored 11 points to lead the Crusaders (1-1). Ali Palma added nine points for Trinity Catholic and Kellie Hurd chipped in with eight.

Trumbull held Trinity Catholic to just over 30 percent shooting from the field.

Kelsey Santagata poured in 24 points to lead three players in double figures as the Stamford girls basketball team routed Harding 69-44 on Friday to improve to 2-0.
Kelsey Cognetta, who missed all of last season with an injury, added points 15 and Lauren Schapiro contributed 14 for the Black Knights.
Stamford took control in the first quarter when it outscored Harding 19-3, then built the lead to 32-16 at the half and cruised from there.

Once again the Westhill girls basketball team couldn't take advantage of a huge game from Meg D'Alessandro, who scored 28 points in Friday's 58-53 loss to Ridgefield.
D'Alessandro is averaging 30 points in Westhill's first two games -- she had 32 against Wilton -- but the Vikings are off to an 0-2 start.
Ridgefield rebounded from a season-opening loss to St. Joseph to even its record at 1-1.
Andrea Ferrero scored 14 points for the Tigers, who outscored the Vikings 15-0 in the second quarter to build a 24-17 halftime lead after Westhill had jumped out to a 17-9 advantage after the first stanza.
The second half was even with the Vikings outscoring the Tigers 36-34.
Emily Favorite and Gemma Howard also hit double figures for Ridgefield with 12 and 11 points, respectively.
