While sporting a 5-2 record, theboys basketball has endured some rough patches early in the season.

After falling to New London in the Northeast Christmas Classic 72-63, the Crusaders were stunned by Greenwich 43-41 last Tuesday.
Trinity Catholic almost suffered a second straight upset against Stamford on Friday, but Kenny Wright hit a jumper in the final seconds of regulation to force overtime. The Crusaders then went on to defeat the Black Knights, 61-54.

Now Trinity Catholic has a chance to make a statement as it hosts St. Joseph on Tuesday (7 p.m.) in a possible preview of the FCIAC championship game.
Ranked No. 1 in the state, the Cadets (7-0 overall) have cruised through their first five conference games, winning by an average of 46 points, including an 87-35 victory over Harding on Friday.
In that game, Towson-bound Timajh Parker scored his 1,000th career point for the Cadets, whose closest game so far in FCIAC play has been a 40-point win over Fairfield Ludlowe (73-33).
In other games Tuesday, Stamford (2-5) hosts Trumbull (4-2) and Westhill 4-2) is at Fairfield Ludlowe (2-5).
Chris Walters, who missed Westhill's first five games while recovering from a torn meniscus in his right knee, made his season debut on Friday.
He scored 18 of his 20 points in the second half, when the Vikings rallied from an eight-point halftime deficit to defeat Bassick, 72-62.
