Monday's loser's bracket games involving Stamford and North Haven in the 14-year-old Babe Ruth state tournament was postponed because of rain.

The contest now will be played on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at the Waterford Babe Ruth Field. Also on Tuesday, Norwalk takes on Tri-County at Mercer Field in New London at 5:30 p.m.

Tournament officials hope to have the two winners meet on Wednesday at field to be determined.

Waterford and Simsbury, 2-0 in the tournament, will meet on Wednesday at Waterford in the winner's bracket final.

The Stamford 15s stayed alive on Monday with a 4-3 win over Simsbury and will face Ansonia in the loser's bracket semifinals on Tuesday at 5 p.m.

The Stamford senior American Legion team finished in fourth place in Zone Four with a 15-12 record following Sunday's 4-3 loss to Darien/New Canaan, which clinched a berth in the state play-in tournament with the win.

Stamford, the No. 30 seed, visits No. 19 Ellington in a play-in game on Tuesday. The winner plays at No. 14 seed RCP on Wednesday for a spot in the main Legion state tournament.

The Stamford junior Legion club, which is 20-6 with a game remaining on Monday against Westport, clinched first place even those Monday's finale against Westport was cancelled. Regardless of the outcome, Stamford had the top seed wrapped up.

Trumbull (20-7) defeated Wilton 4-1 Monday to tie Ridgefield for second, but Ridgefield won the tiebreaker based on winning the season series.

The pairings for the junior state tournament will be announced on Tuesday
