Six members of the Westhill softball team, which was denied a second consecutive state championship, earned spots on the FCIAC first team, a league high. St. Joseph and Darien each had three players named to the first team.
Those honored from the Vikings were pitcher Allison Macari, fielders Cassandra Kish, Eileen Tublin and Brittney Horn and utility players Allie Souza and Elizabeth Joseph. Stamford's Krista Robustelli and Chelsea Sciarretta also made the first team.

Westhill, which finished 20-0 in the regular season, lost to Conard 4-1 in the CIAC Class LL state championship game.
Stamford's Melissa King and Nicole DeFosche and Trinity Catholic's Caitlin Ornousky were named to the second team.

-- The Stamford KIC IT Triathlon, now in its fourth year, takes place Sunday in Stamford. There also is a kids triathlon (ages 7-13) on Saturday. The KIC IT Kids Triathlon starts at Cove Island Beach and is limited to 100 participants.
To register, visit www.kicittriathlon.com. The Stamford KIC IT Triathlon, which features a 9 mile swim, 24.8 mile bike ride, and 6.2 mile run, starts at 6:30 a.m. at Cummings Park Beach,which is located on Long Island Sound.
Directions to Cummings Park Beach: From the East:
Take I-95 South.
Take the Elm Street Exit 8 and continue 0.29 miles.
Turn left onto Elm Street and continue 0.21 miles.
Turn right onto Jefferson Street and continue 0.07 miles.
Turn left onto Magee Avenue.
Take left onto Shippan Avenue and this will lead you into the park.
From the West:
Take I-95 North.
Take the Atlantic Street Exit 8 and continue 0.21 miles.
Stay straight to go onto South State Street and continue 0.54 miles.
Turn right onto Elm Street and continue 0.37 miles.
Turn right onto Shippan Avenue and Cummings Park will be on your left.
Following the race’s end in Columbus Park, athletes, spectators and volunteers will enjoy a fun family festival featuring music and entertainment activities for all ages, as well as an array of delicious foods from area restaurants.
-- Stamford's tournament of champions, which features the six Little League champions from the town, begins on Wednesday.
In first-round games, Federal visits Northrop and Stamford American plays at North Stamford. Both game start at 5:45 p.m.
In the semifinals on Thursday, Springdale hosts the winner of game one and National Lione takes on the game two winner at 5:45 p.m. The finals are set for Sunday.
Clairol, out of the Springdale League, could be the favorite after going 19-0 in the regular season. Federal is the defending champion.
