-- The Stamford boys basketball team, which lost to Bassick in the FCIAC championship game Tuesday, is the No. 18 seed in the CIAC Class LL state tournament and opens on the road Monday at No. 15 North Free Academy. If the Black Knights prevail, a date at No. 2 seed St. Joseph (bye in the first round) awaits on Wednesday. Westhill is the 11th seed in the LL tournament and Trinity Catholic the No. 18 seed in Class M. Westhill hosts No. 22 Newington on Monday, then would await the winner of No.6 Hillhouse and No. 27 Harding in the next round. Trinity Catholic plays on the road Monday at Brookfield. No. 7 Watertown or No. 26 Immaculate would be up next for the Crusaders.
-- Stamford-Westhill won the FCIAC diving competition at the Westhill pool with a team score of 41.2. Individually, it had three divers in the top 10: 4. Sean Burston (385.50), 6. Rob Katz (304.65) and No. 10 Lauren Cunningham (278.75) .
