The Westhill boys soccer team will be looking to spring a major upset Monday when the Vikings visit No. 3 seed Norwalk in a Class LL second-round game on Monday at 7 p.m.

Norwalk (14-2-2) will be facing its second straight FCIAC opponent after holding off 30th-ranked Stamford 2-1 in the first round on Friday.

Westhill (10-6-2), which was the FCIAC's hottest team down the stretch, reached the second round with a 3-0 win over No. 14 Bristol Central.

After starting 0-5, which included forfeiting three games for using an ineligible player, the 19th-seeded Vikings reeled off a 9-0-2 run to qualify for the FCIAC playoffs (losing to Darien in the quarterfinals).

During the regular season, Norwalk defeated Westhill 3-2 on Sept. 24.

The winner of Monday's contest will face either No. 6 Farmington or No. 11 Staples in the quarterfinals on Wednesday.

The 10th-seeded Stamford field hockey team plays at No. 2 seed Glastonbury in the quarterfinals of the Class L state tournament on Monday (2 p.m.)

The Black Knights advanced with a 2-0 win over No. 7 Simsbury in the first round on Friday while Glastonbury defeated No. 15 McMahon by the same score.

The winner of Monday's contest gets either No. 3 Norwalk or No. 11 New Canaan in the semifinals on Wednesday.

The Stamford Hurricanes boys U-13 Gold soccer team wrapped up its inaugural season with a 6-2 win over Trumbull to finish 5-3 in league play and 7-4 overall.

In the final game, Mikolaj Musial and Uriy Yosypiv eached scored a pair of goals. The other goals came from Angel Uribe and Benjamin Joseph. Yosypiv had a hand in all the goals.

Will Hallett played well in goal with five saves and a number of other plays. Joe Magnifico, Matthew Alswanger, Liam Shanahan, Jason Alvarez and Brandon Hoak played strong defense. Benjy Robinov, Matthew Rutherford, Julian Gallego, Jorge Cordova, Darin Harper and Juan Medina contributed to the win from the midfield.
