Former King football standout Silas Redd was named to the all-Big Ten second team on Monday.

Redd was slowed by a shoulder injury late in the season, but the sophomore running back still rushed for 1,207 yards and scored seven touchdowns while playing in all 12 games for Penn State.

His average of 99.0 yards per game ranked fourth in the Big Ten. Redd was one of six players to rush for more than 1,000 yards in the league season.

Penn State concluded its regular season with a 45-7 loss at Wisconsin last week, a result that cost the Nittany Lions (9-3) a berth in the inaugural Big Ten championship game.

Redd rushed for 66 yards on only 12 carries against Wisconsin, which will face Michigan State in the Big Ten title game this weekend. Penn State will learn its bowl destination on Sunday.

Westhill's Megan Gray was named to the all-FCIAC girls swimming and diving second team in the 200 freestyle and 100 butterfly.
