Stamford Scores and Standings: Sept. 29

The roster of the University of Bridgeport women's soccer team, which is ranked No. 1 in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Division II poll, includes three players from Stamford.

The local players are: sophomore midfielder Penny Cote of Stamford, and freshmen forward Aulona Velaj and Tessa Dunster of Westhill.  Velaj and Dunster were on the Vikings' team that lost to Shelton in last year's CIAC Class LL state championship game.

Bridgeport was off to a 7-0 start heading into Wednesday's game against Stonehill, having climbed from 17th at the beginning of the season and allowing only two goals all year.
