"The block of Bedford Street between Broad Street and Forest Street functions as Stamford’s 'Main Street' with a rich history of retail, restaurant and bar activity, and residential usage," a description of the project notes. "This history continues today with Bedford Street being the main downtown restaurant, bar, and retail corridor. Additionally, Bedford Street is home to several special events such as Arts and Crafts on Bedford, Brews on Bedford, Bark in the Park, and several others. With this success and significant activity, several challenges have emerged which this project seeks to address."
