Stamford Set to Hire Architect for New Police Headquarters
The Board of Finance will vote on the proposed $3.4 million contact next week.

An architecture firm that specializes in designing public safety buildings has been selected by the city to design a new Stamford Police headquarters.
Jacunski Humes, a firm based in upstate Berlin that has designed police headquarters in Darien, Danbury, West Haven, East Hartford, and Cromwell, was selected from a pool of nine applicants, according to The Advocate.
The Stamford Board of Finance is scheduled to vote on the $3.4 million contract at special meeting scheduled for 6:30 p.m. April 29 at the Government Center.

The city decided to replace the 50-plus year old facility at 805 Bedford St. after asbestos and other safety issues were found in the building in 2014.
