Stamford Sets New Mill Rate

STAMFORD, CT- The Board of Finance approved a 2.6 percent tax hike and moved the average mill rate to 25.76.

Stamford has four different taxing districts and rates for each district are determined by what municipal services such as sewer and garbage pick-up are offered.

Republican Town Committee Chair Fritz Balu called to balance the budget without a tax rate increase, according to the Stamford Advocate.

There is an $11 million contingency budget and $8.9 million is marked for union salary increases that are pending negotiation.
