Stamford Stars Softball Team Raising Funds To Attend Championship

STAMFORD, CT — Both the 8-and-under and 10-and-under Stamford Stars youth softball teams went undefeated this year, but their attendance at the championship is still not a lock.

They have the invitation, but not the funds to make the trip to the Babe Ruth World Series in Jensen Beach, Florida later this month. The girls started an online fundraiser to close the gap.

The GoFundMe page, organized by Samantha Quinlan, went live on July 3, with the trip just three weeks away. As of Wednesday morning, the teams had raised $17,153 of their $50,000 goal. The World Series Opening Ceremony is scheduled for July 27.
