Stamford Swimming Coach on Leave After Swimmers Became Ill: Report

Several swimmers had physical reactions after swimming in a pool without chlorine.

STAMFORD, CT — Longtime Westhill-Stamford girls co-op swimming coach Rick Lewis was put on leave after swimmers practiced in a pool that wasn't chlorinated and became sick.

Some swimming and diving teams members complained about pool conditions before practice, but practice still took place, according to the Stamford Advocate.

Several girls experienced "an adverse physical reaction."
