Stamford Teacher Charged With Child Porn Possession: PD
A Stamford teacher is accused of possessing over 150 images of child pornography, as well as " voyeuristic videos," according to police.

STAMFORD, CT — A Stamford teacher accused of possessing over 150 images of child pornography, as well as "voyeuristic videos," was arrested Friday, according to police. The arrest comes after a six-month investigation by the department's special investigations/juvenile offense unit.
Gregory Kelly, 35, of Stamford, a city employee who worked as a math teacher at Cloonan Middle School, was charged with four counts of second-degree possession of child pornography, two counts of third-degree possession of child pornography and two counts of voyeurism. Police said Kelly turned himself in after learning a warrant had been issued for his arrest.
According to a prepared statement from Stamford Police, the investigation began in August after the department received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that images of child pornography had originated from the city.

Investigators traced the associated IP addresses, then executed a search warrant at Kelly's Stamford residence on Aug. 21.
"At that point, investigators identified Kelly as the prime suspect in this investigation," police said in statement.

Officers also briefed the Stamford Board of Education on the investigation that day, police said. In response, the board placed Kelly on administrative leave and "steps were taken to ensure that he had no further contact with children," police said.
During the investigation, investigators seized approximately 30 digital devices, each of which were examined forensically by the Stamford Police Digital Forensic Unit, the Southwest Technical Investigations Unit and the FBI, police said.
"These examinations yielded over 150 images of child pornography, police said. "In addition, there were voyeuristic videos of two teenage female victims."
Investigators were ultimately able to identify the two teenagers after an extensive search of social media, police said.
"The acts of voyeurism were committed at Kelly's home and a home of [one of the teens]," police said.
According to the Stamford Advocate, Kelly also coached the Greenwich High School freshman boys basketball team from December 2018 to February 2019.
Cloonan Principal David Tate said in a letter sent to parents Friday that Kelly, who taught at the school for a year, never coached any teams at Cloonan, the Stamford Advocate reports. He also said police told the school district in August they did not believe any Stamford children were harmed.
Police ask anyone who would like to report "information of a suspicious nature" regarding Kelly to contact the Stamford Police SIJO unit at 203-977-4639.
