In Stamford: When a Kiss Is Not a Kiss

A man is arrested by Stamford Police after he kisses a woman's derriere as she shopped for groceries.

A 37-year-old Stamford man was arrested on a sexual assault charge after an employee of a Glenbrook supermarket saw him plant a kiss on a woman’s buttocks when she bent to take a food item off a shelf.

It was shortly after 3 p.m. Wednesday when the 31-year-old woman was shopping at Shop Rite at 495 Hope St. when she felt something momentarily touch her buttocks, according to The Advocate. She apparently didn’t see anyone when turned around but the employee who witnessed the incident told her what happened, according to the report.

The woman accepted employees’ offer to call police and officers found Wendell Woodroffe, of East Main Street, still in the store. Woodroffe, who has a history of assault convictions, was charged with fourth-degree sexual assault, according to The Advocate report that can be found here.
