Stamford Wins Rock Crushing Appeal
The city issued a cease and desist order to stop a rock crushing operation.

STAMFORD, CT- The city of Stamford won an appeal over a case to shut down a rock crushing operating in the South End nearly six years ago.
The city filed a cease and desist order on June 21, 2010 to shut down the operation.
“This is an important win for the City of Stamford in enforcing land use regulations," said Corporation Counsel Kathryn Emmett.

The court determined that the defendant, Ten Rugby Street LLC.'s conduct didn't merit fines, but did impose a permanent injunction for the company to comply with zoning regulations at the property.

“Stamford is a wonderful community and it is important that the City enforce the rules that are in place to safeguard the integrity and quality of life in our neighborhoods. We will fight to protect our community from those who violate our zoning laws,” said Mayor David Martin.
