Stamford Woman Struck, Killed By Pair Of Cars In NJ: Prosecutors
The woman, who was hit by two cars on Route 1 and 9 in Newark, N.J., was traveling with her son at the time, prosecutors said.
STAMFORD, CT — A pair of cars fatally stuck a Stamford woman on Route 1 and 9 in Newark, N.J., on Sunday morning. She was traveling with her son at the time, authorities said.
According to the Essex County Prosecutor's Office, Diana Carolina Gonzalez-Rivera, 29, of Stamford, was driving with her juvenile son in a Honda Civic at 6:19 a.m. on the Route 1 and 9 northbound express lanes.
At that time, Gonzalez-Rivera stepped out of her car and walked into oncoming traffic. A pair of vehicles struck her, causing fatal injuries, authorities said.

Prosecutors said the driver of the first car stopped after hitting Gonzalez-Rivera. Because of traffic, the second car was unable to immediately stop, but the driver contacted police.
Gonzalez-Rivera's son wasn't injured, authorities said. Nobody was charged with a crime as of Monday morning, prosecutors said.

Police are investigating the incident. No additional information was immediately available.
