Stamford Youth Soccer League Team Tryouts Begin May 14

STAMFORD, CT - From the Stamford Youth Soccer League: The Stamford Youth Soccer League (SYSL) is pleased to announce the tryout schedule for its fall 2018 travel soccer program, known as the Stamford Hurricanes. Tryouts will be held beginning Monday, May 14, 2018, and continue through Saturday, June 2, 2018, at the turf fields at West Beach on Shippan Avenue, and at Rippowam Middle School on High Ridge Road, in Stamford.

New players who are not currently on a Stamford Hurricane’s travel team are required to bring a completed paper travel tryout form with them to the tryout session. The Travel Tryout Form can be downloaded from the Stamford Soccer website under the forms tab. New players should not pre-pay for the travel program nor register electronically, because travel registration fees for new players are payable after a player has been accepted onto a travel team.

All players are required to attend the tryout sessions with appropriate soccer attire. This includes cleats, shin guards, a soccer ball, and drinking water.

The Stamford Hurricane’s offers travel teams for boys and girls, U8 through U15. There are no travel teams for U16 and older in the fall. To determine player eligibility for a specific age division, please refer to the birth year information, below. The Stamford Hurricanes 2018 fall season runs from September through mid-November, with training beginning in August. Team travel is generally limited to Fairfield County.
